The Reference Services’ mission is to provide personalized answers, based on the collections of documents and the internal and/or external resources of the “Carol I” Central University Library in Bucharest, to meet the requests for information of the users, regardless of their location.
References can be synchronous – punctual answers to simple questions, addressed directly or by phone, related to the organization of the library, regarding the collections and services offered – and asynchronous: references by e-mail (refer@bcub.ro); thematic bibliographies on request; complex bibliographic research; providing electronic document delivery.
The Reference Services regularly organizes training sessions in accessing and efficient use of scientific databases, available via the “Carol I” Central University Library in Bucharest. They take place online on the ZOOM platform, according to a pre-set schedule. The courses are free and are intended for specific categories of users (professors, researchers, PhD students, students). However, participation is open to all those interested.
The Reference Services manages the following areas, located on the ground floor of the Headquarters of the “Carol I” Central University Library in Bucharest: Access Information, Access Control, Catalogues, Internet, Seat Reservation, Specialized References and Library Card Office, responsible for issuing and endorsing access library cards in the library.
